Valencia CF will face Real Betis Balompié in the Copa del Rey final at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville on Saturday 23rd of April at 10 pm kick-off time.
Valencia CF are looking to claim their ninth Copa del Rey and the third in Seville a happy hunting ground for silverware in Valencia CF's history books as they will return to the setting that saw them end the longest trophy drought in the club’s history back in 1999 with a 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid.
With Valencia CF’s ambassador for this year’s final, Claudio López at the double which was capped off by a sublime Gaizka Mendieta volley past the keeper after scintillatingly lifting the ball over two defenders.
In 2004, Valencia CF were crowned league champions in Seville at the Sánchez Pizjuán with Vicente and Baraja on the scoresheet.
Valencia CF's latest silverware exploits took place on Real Betis home soil with a 2-1 over FC Barcelona in the centenary year.
Valencia CF will be looking to extend their array of honours collected in the Andalusian Capital with a win over Real Betis Balompié to rekindle the spirit of that memorable 1999 Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja.
